Librarians

The library is integral to learning.

We understand the importance of the library and librarians. So we’ve designed Accessit Library – not as a peripheral system, but as essential to the operation of the entire school.

Lighten your load

Accessit automates day-to-day tasks such as cataloguing and emailing overdues. Plus tight integration with student administration systems means student details are always up to date.

So much functionality

As well as searching, students can renew, reserve, book, read and write reviews, and create citations. They can even check on their current loans and overdue items, see their lending history, reviews, and more.

Accessit One Search

With One Search, teachers, librarians and students can check all local and online content with a single search. Results can also be pulled from other sites such as public libraries, websites and online databases, including your online subscriptions.

Quick to learn

Accessit is so intuitive, you’ll soon be a power-user. Plus, with over a hundred video tutorials available, you can get a refresher whenever you need it. Our support team is fast, friendly and understanding. They’re real people, with library experience, who will assist you personally and listen to your feedback.

“We chose Accessit because of all our options in Library Management Software it provided the best and most personalised student dashboard within the Web App. From the library management perspective Accessit makes many tasks a breeze – cataloguing, overdue lists, and all the routine tasks are done with a minimum of fuss. The company is continually improving the product in response to users’ feedback, and the Accessit support team have been exceptional in responding to our requests and problems. Highly recommend!!”

It’s time to put your library first.

The library should be at the heart of your school. But with limited resources available, it’s often treated as an afterthought. Accessit Library solves this problem by turning your library into a central hub that connects and integrates all your school’s existing systems.

Accessit Library automates many of your day-to-day tasks

Many of the tasks you will need to perform on a routine basis are automated for you in Accessit. The Action Bar gives you a real-time overview of your library – the number of reserved items, overdue items, overdue subscriptions, new borrowers, and so on. Automated cataloguing across multiple metadata sources gives you a better success rate and richer catalogue records, every time. Overdue and underdue reminder notices can be sent automatically to either the student, the parent/guardian, or both. Accessit can even scan the web links in your catalogue, identifying and reporting on any broken links.

Accessit synchronises with most student administration systems, automatically updating your borrower records every night, so you’re always up to date.

Our engaging user interface will motivate your users to interact with the library

    Engage students

The Web App is customisable, intuitive and easy to use. Searching is varied and inclusive, picking up on misspellings and phonetic spelling as well as truncations. Our Visual Search option is a gateway for your visual learners. Straight out of the box this looks great, but you can customise the images or search categories to suit your school.

We’ve found that students and teachers love being able to interact with the library catalogue. Accessit allows users to “like” and review their favourite reads, create lists of resources that can be saved and shared, and even use our citation tool to reference sources. Borrowers can filter and sort results to easily refine results lists and find related items.

    Promotion

Let the home screen of the Web App do the talking for you. Add carousels and news items to promote new reads. Add the ‘Accessit Web App Guide’ to the home screen of the Web App – this is a video we’ve specially designed to assist your students with the Web App, so they can take charge of their own learning. Allow your users to select categories they are interested in. Accessit automatically notify them when something has been added to the catalogue, matching their area of interest.

Reaching beyond the four walls of the library

Accessit’s One Search is a single discovery tool, giving your users access to all your online subscription material with one click. Carry out any search in Accessit, then extend that same search across multiple online content providers, without having to separately log in. Guiding less confident researchers and teaching lessons on information literacy has never been easier!

    Reports and statistics

Accessit comes with a suite of standard, easy to use reports. Included in these reports are Web App specific reports: see what search terms are being used, the most popular searches, the failed searches, and so on. These can help with collection development as well as identifying resources that need extra tags or subject headings.

You can report on which One Search providers are being used. This is a great way to justify paying for online content, keeping an eye on the actual usage without having to approach the vendors. This also identifies which databases may need extra promotion or training.

On top of this, you can also create your own custom reports as needed, saving the templates for later.

Our support is second to none

Our support team is made up of librarians, just like you. Not only have they used Accessit in schools, they really know school libraries and understand the challenges faced by schools.

As a customer you will also have full access to our Accessit Customer Help Portal and our Accessit Library eLearning Centre (ALeC) where you can watch video tutorials and read help articles.

    Making your dollar go further

All Accessit features come as standard, so you don’t have to pay more when you want to do something new. On top of this, all updates and new versions are included in the annual licence, as is support.

You can report on the usage of your subscription-based services, such as databases and eBooks, to justify spend, or identify areas that need promotion or replacement.

Additionally, library and IT trained support staff are available via phone or email, as often as you need.
